Content Specialist Undergraduate Intern

The department of Marketing and Communications in the Enrollment Division is seeking an undergraduate student for a paid internship focused on written communications.
The Content Specialist intern will develop and write stories for the Undergraduate Admissions website that help us recruit the best and brightest students to Notre Dame.
This is a one-year internship to take place over the 2024-25 academic year.
Responsibilities:
-Attend two, half-hour to one-hour meetings per week: Weekly one-on-one meetings with manager to discuss story leads/content opportunities and review/edit stories; and team meetings with broader Undergraduate Admissions intern team
-Write 2-4 stories per month for publication on the Undergraduate Admissions website, with possible additional opportunities for publication via other media
-Investigate story leads and develop/brainstorm unique ideas that help us tell the Notre Dame story to prospective students and their families
-Participate in intern team projects (Examples: Instagram/Snapchat takeovers, podcast creation, TikTok videos)
-Assist with reviewing and updating website content as needed
Qualifications
-Excellent communication and written English skills, including grammar and spelling, along with ability to adhere to Chicago Manual of Style guidelines (familiarity with CMS helpful, but not required)
-Reliable and able to make a commitment to this role throughout the 2024-25 academic year
-Ability to communicate effectively with prospective students of all backgrounds
-Possess proficient ability to share reflections via storytelling
-Ability to meet deadlines as agreed upon with manager
-Familiarity with computer technology; experience with Conductor, WordPress, Squarespace, Substack, or other web platform is desired, but not required
-Active in campus life and programs
-Exhibit maturity and institute discretion in content creation
-Possess good time management and organization skills
-Proactive, demonstrating initiative in seeking out stories and creating engaging new content
