Research Assistant

Students will work with the McKenna Center’s projects dealing with poverty and entrepreneurship (https://mckennacenter.nd.edu/global-programs/entrepreneurship/). The individuals in this role will be responsible for projects related to South Bend Entrepreneurship and Adversity Program (SBEAP) https://mckennacenter.nd.edu/global-programs/entrepreneurship/urban-poverty-and-business-initiative/sbeap-community-bootcamp/.

Responsibilities include interviewing entrepreneurs and identifying progress made through and/or as a result of the program, managing logistics of 6-week training program and special sessions, tracking progress in database.

This fall, we are expanding the SBEAP program to offer continuing consulting and training for the entrepreneurs that have graduated the SBEAP program, and will be seeking individuals to work in the community administering this aspect of the program.

Additionally, the McKenna Center is hosting an international conference which is a masterclass for teachers of entrepreneurship September 12 – 15, and all students will be involved in the logistical preparation and management of the conference (https://mckennacenter.nd.edu/global-programs/entrepreneurship/experiential-classroom/).

Other responsibilities may be assigned based on the priorities of the Center throughout the year.

Qualifications

Individual should have a concern for addressing poverty issues, be a strong writer, detail-oriented, and have basic technical skills with Word and Excel. Must be self-starter.
