Alliance to End Human Trafficking Intern

There are a number of opportunities for an intern to support the work of AEHT depending on their background and interest. Possible projects could include: database research and development, contacting other colleges/universities to encourage more student participation as members or student chapters of AEHT; researching and contacting colleges/universities interested in providing scholarships for survivors of human trafficking and contacting various employers and creating a database of those interested in hiring survivors of human trafficking; identifying federal legislation related to our anti-trafficking priorities and assisting with leading an advocacy and/or marketing campaigns, creating and leading educational programming and/or creating content for our social media platforms. Other potential projects as developed by the intern would also be considered.

Onboarding/orientation: The intern would meet with the Executive Director to review the possible work projects and set the scope and expectations of their work. The first week or two the intern will spend getting to know the organization, our values and work, and meeting other staff and volunteers relevant to the scope of their work.

Ongoing reporting and supervision
The intern would report directly to the Executive Director. There would be a regular weekly meeting between the intern and the Executive Director to review progress of the work, answer any questions, and set the priorities for the coming week.

Qualifications

- Passion and interest in working to end human trafficking
- Familiarity with Catholic culture and values, Catholic Social Teaching
- Able to work independently with limited supervision
- Organized, Responsible, Professional
- English language fluency, additional languages a plus
- Have own computer and access to internet
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite applications
- Depending on the scope of the work chosen, a background check may be required

Hours
10 hours per week. This internship will span the 2024/2025 academic year, excluding breaks. Start date to be agreed upon with student.
