Student Assistant to the Ford Program in Human Development Studies and Solidarity

The student assistant for the Ford Program will have the opportunity to take on a multitude of tasks supporting research activities of the Ford Program. With the goal of understanding the challenges and aspirations of people living in extreme poverty around the developing world, the Program conducts and supports research that grows out of engagement with local communities.

The student assistant will assist with the following: Literature reviews for Ford Program research in Africa, Latin America, and Europe (e.g., education, entrepreneurship, human dignity, maternal and child health and migration), database and file management, event coordination/preparation, website management and research communications, and publications as well as grant/funding searches. Experience or training in quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and conducting literature reviews is preferred. Some knowledge of international development studies is preferred. Times for work will vary but will be needed at least twice a week. 5-6 hrs/week, with opportunities for additional hours.
